4. Midi Keyboard
M-Audio Keystation 32 Mini Keyboard
This is my favourite of all the portable keyboards because of it’s ultra portability feature. With just a USB to be plugged in, I never miss out on new tunes and fresh ideas. I use this extensively on my Mac, running Logic pro X.
I used this setup on my flight back to Hyderabad from Delhi and it was so much fun. No time to waste! I wrote a new song on that very flight that day. Now you can also write new tunes on the go just like me!

5. Mixer
Behringer Q502USB 5-Channel Mixer
A five channel mixer from Behringer sounds like a great idea to me because I never record simultaneous multi-tracks. I record one at a time. This has been the procedure I’ve been following since the start of my Albums, which is great! I don’t regret it. And because of that, I prefer a five channel mixer.
The best part is this mixer has so many features yet comes at an affordable price!

6. Microphone
Samson C01U Pro USB Studio Condenser Microphone
The reason I prefer a USB Mic over an XLR Mic is to avoid making things look complicated. I can achieve the same output with a Pro USC Mic as with an XLR Mic. It’s only that you have to carry a Sound Card always if you’re using an XLR Mic (if that’s fine with you!).
The Key Features are,
- Ideal for Recording Music, Sound Foley, Voiceovers and Audio for YouTubers.
- Vastly improves Skype, FaceTime and Speech-to-Text Dictation App on the Mac.

7. Headphone
SRH240A Professional Headphone
I’ve been using the Shure Professional Microphone for quite sometime now. Shure is one of the best brands available in the market in 2015.
One of the reasons of using this particular mic is because of the Flat Response it offers during Mastering my Music. This is something a Headphone should be able to offer the Sound Engineer.

8. Acoustic Room Treatment
Acoustic Foams are used in Acoustic Room Treatment and to Damp Sound during a Recording Session or a Jam Session. This is something I use and highly recommend. The best part is it’s affordable and you don’t have to apply this material all over the room.
Acoustic Foam by Envirotech has the following characteristics,
