San Francisco: Rockstar Games acknowledged on Monday that it had’suffered a network breach’ that led to the large leak of 90 videos of Grand Theft Auto game 6, which showed off the game’s gameplay, engine, and other aspects from an early development build.

The leak gave fans a look at how GTA 6 was being developed, and also verified earlier rumours about the game’s Vice City setting and first female protagonist.

The new Grand Theft Auto was shown in early development video, according to a statement from Rockstar Games. “We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorised third party fraudulently accessed and downloaded proprietary material from our systems,” the company stated.

We “do not foresee any disruption to our live game services or any long-term influence on the development of our ongoing projects” at this time.

The corporation expressed its “extreme disappointment” at having any information about their upcoming game disclosed to everyone in this manner.

The gaming business stated, “Our progress on the upcoming Grand Theft Auto game will go as scheduled and we remain as devoted as ever to providing an experience to you, our gamers, that genuinely exceeds your expectations.

The game, originally known as GTA 6, has amassed a record-breaking 170 million sales to date and will be the first mainline release since 2013’s GTA V.

When the new game is ready, the company will appropriately reveal it to everyone and provide another update in the near future.

The claimed GTA 6 footage was posted by “tepotuberhacker” on the GTA Forums. He shared different clips of the game’s open world in action from what seems to be an early development build.

The more than 90 films give players a thorough look at thefts, NPC interactions, vehicle interactions, and more from the game’s expansive sandbox.

The video appears to be from builds that are at least a few years old, indicating that work has been ongoing concurrently with recent GTA V content upgrades.
