From my grandpa’s desk

‘As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD’ (Joshua 24:15). Generation after generation we are Christians by faith. Our parents Anbiah Esq., Mrs. Rajammal Anbiah, G. Redemptus Esq., Mrs. Sundaram Redemptus were the pioneers of founding churches in South India. The Bible says, ‘The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord’ (Romans 6:23). The incredible gift of God’s people is the gift of salvation, that brings one from darkness to light. Ephesians 2:8 mentions about the saving grace of CHRIST. My father-in-law and mother-in-law were the founders of Assembly of God churches in South India. They joined hands with Rev. Sorbo and Mrs. Sorbo, the U.S. missionaries to India. They established AG churches, especially in Kanyakumari district. Now those churches have branched out into many more. During their time in Anaimalai Hills, both of them used to spend their evenings preaching the WORD OF GOD. They shared gospel, taught discipline, educated the poor labourers about hygiene, etiquette and many more. GOD acknowledged their selfless deeds. This saving grace enabled our forefathers to be a blessing to the succeeding generations.

A SHORT GLIMPSE OF OUR LIFE BEFORE WEDDING

I, A. Peter Sam, am the only son among 3 siblings and I was dedicated by my parents to do LORD’s work. So after being graduated with the degree, B.A.,B.ED., I worked as a teacher, so that I could use rest of the time for GOD’s work. My father was a steadfast believer and his commitment to the LORD was so strong. His life was a training school for me. My bond with CHRIST intensified day by day. In our gospel meetings, we could witness the salvation,  healing and forgiveness of people and God’s move in a mighty way. HE used me and my team to establish HIS kingdom on earth. Lots of miracles happened in our crusades. All glory and honor to JESUS. When we honor — doing everything to edify, give glory — HIM, HE will honor us is the affirmation given to HIS children and it happened that way. Those days were amazing days. My wife, Mrs. Hepzibah Sam, also is a dedicated lady whom God made for me. She is the only daughter to her parents. Soon after her graduation, we both got married.

WEDDING

Our wedding was held on January 18,1964 at Anaimalai Hills. We started our faithlife from then. Salvation brought a transformation in her life. Soon after baptism she covenanted with GOD by removing all jewels. Her parents preserved the jewellery for a long time thinking that she might ask. But she never looked back and the LORD honoured her faith in Him. She has the gift of singing. So got opportunities to sing gospel songs for FEBA RADIO in her forties. Her songs magnified HIS name and encouraged many to live a hopeful life.

MIRACLE 1

On the wedding day, I, my wife along with our guests started our journey back to my place. In the midway we could find a big log of wood blocking the road. It was 10pm and we were wondering as to what to do next because it is the Elephant Hill. We could go neither up nor down the hill. To our surprise some official came in a jeep  and handed over the keys of a nearby guest house for us to stay. We thanked our LORD, stayed that night in the guest house and traveled back the next morning. It was the time when there was no phones for communication. Don’t you think the person who came was an angel from heaven?
